The city of Hogansville recently rolled out an incentive program for its employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to City Manager Jonathan Lynn, in an effort to encourage as many employees to receive the vaccine as possible, the city will provide any employee that receives both doses a $100 gift card of their choice from Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon or Ingles.
“While the city of Hogansville is not requiring the COVID-19 vaccine to be received by any employee, the city will continue to do as much as we are able to protect our workforce,” Lynn said. “The encouragement to get the vaccine cannot be stressed enough for those that are willing to do so.”
Lynn said they budgeted out the incentive for all employees. He said the city has 54 employees and approximately 20% of all employees have already received their first dose.
Any employees with questions as to when they may be eligible to receive the vaccine, can email Interim Police Chief Jeff Sheppard (jeff.sheppard@cityofhogansville.org). Sheppard is handling coordination for the city.
“As none of us are healthcare professionals, please refer to the District 4 office of the Department of Public Health website for all questions and concerns you may have regarding the vaccine,” a press release from the city said. “Again, receipt of the vaccine is highly encouraged but not mandatory for any employee.”
