LaGrange local Terrance Rimpson is no stranger to cell phone repair and entrepreneurship.
When Rimpson was in ninth grade at LaGrange High School, he began fixing his friends’ and classmates’ phone screens out of his mom’s closet.
Rimspon said he had a whole setup and taught himself how to fix and replace cracked iPhone screens.
Now, almost eight years later, he has opened a storefront on Broome Street called Cell Wiz.
Surrounded by friends, family and staff, Rimpson hosted a grand opening Thursday morning at the new store.
“We offer cell phone repair for the front and back of phones,” Rimpson said. “We are actually one of the only cell phone stores around here with the back-glass machine. We can fix your back glass so you can go trade in your phone or basically have a brand-new phone.”
Rimpsom said they also can cut tempered glass to do custom phone skins.
“In 2015, I opened my first shop on West Point Road,” Rimpson said. “We closed that one after facing some adversity and just opened this one Monday.”
Rimpson said since opening they have been fixing more than five phones a day.
“We are starting out pretty steady, which is really exciting for us,” Rimpson said. “I am really excited to see this business grow in the community. I have a lot of goals for this.”
Cell Wiz can service iPhones, LG phones, HTC phones and Samsung phones. They can also service tablets, computers, game consoles, televisions and more.
The company can also mount television sets as well.
Rimspon said home automation and security is growing in popularity. He noted that they have a wide variety of home automation installs available.
“I can’t wait to see what this can turn into,” Rimpson said. “I hope to be all over Georgia one day and have shops popping up everywhere.”
Cell Wiz is located 301 W Broome St Suite 100 in LaGrange. For more information, call (706) 880-6040 or email rimpsonts@icloud.com.
“If you’re looking for something more specific, be sure to just ask us if we can do it,” Rimpson said.
“We’re pretty darn good at fixing any tech product, so don’t hesitate to ask what we can do for you.”
