The cost of the trailer was estimated to be $700.
Thieves try to steal 2 vehicles
Two men were captured on tape breaking into a truck and attempting to steal it at a Chris’ Towing at 115 Peters St.
The owner of the truck called LaGrange police just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday after he noticed damage to his vehicle and reviewed the security footage.
According to the report, the footage showed two white males approach the Dodge Ram truck about 3:30 a.m., slide open the rear window, unlock the doors and enter.
The officer said it appeared the males were trying to steal the truck because pieces of the dashboard were damaged and some wiring was cut, but they were unable to start the vehicle.
The report stated the two would-be thieves stay in the truck for more than 30 minutes then enter another vehicle that was impounded in the tow yard.
The men then are shown leave the area walking north on Peters Street.
Police said nothing was taken from either vehicle.
LPD is investigating.
