The City of LaGrange Animal Shelter has announced that it will once again join other animal shelters across the country in participating in the annual Clear the Shelters event.
“We are excited to participate in the annual Clear The Shelters event again this year,” said LaGrange Animal Services Supervisor Chris Bussey.
“Last year when we participated in this event, we really did clear the shelter. Nearly every one of our animals was adopted. This year we are at capacity and hope we can find loving homes for all of these animals needing a home.”
All adoption fees will be waived Saturday, Sept. 4, per a press release from the city. Adoptable cats and dogs will be available at both the City of LaGrange Animal Shelter, 1390 Orchard Hill Road and at the LaGrange Petsense, 141 Commerce Avenue.
Adoption fees will continue to be half price through Sept. 23.
The City of LaGrange Animal Shelter began offering half-price adoptions Aug. 23. This special includes all animals.
The animal shelter is currently overcrowded and is experiencing a high intake of animals. Donations, including canned food and bedding, can be dropped off at the Orchard Hill Road location.
