The Friends of the LaGrange Memorial Library monthly book sales are set to begin this week
The first sale is from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The organization will hold $2 plastic bag sales at the library’s temporary location at Unity School at 525 Park Ave. Shoppers may put as much as they can into one of the provided plastic bags for $2. Books also will be available for 50 cents to $1 each.
The first sale is from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Others are planned for Oct. 1-2 and Nov. 5-6 with the same hours. The entrance is on the Wilkes Street side of the Unity School building.
Due to space limitations, these sales will be smaller than the normal mega sales, per a press release from Dan Baker.
The sale will feature fiction, nonfiction and children’s books, and the tables and carts will be refilled throughout the sale. Mass-market paperbacks will not be offered at these sales, although organizers hope to schedule a paperback sale later.
Shoppers will be provided with new standard-size plastic grocery bags; no others will be permitted, although shoppers may transfer their purchases to other bags afterward.
Facial coverings and social distancing are required in the sale area.
Proceeds from the sales support library programs.
