Mrs. Emma Lou McGhee passed away Sunday morning at WellStar West Georgia Hospice.
She was born Feb. 5, 1936, in Troup County to the late JB and Jennie McClendon.
She was a faithful member of the New Mount Olive Baptist Church.
She retired from West Georgia Medical Center.
Survivors include her children: three sons: John McGhee, III, Thomas McGhee and Eric McGhee; one extend son, Render Pots; one daughter, Teresa McGhee; one extended daughter, Vivian Harris; two daughters-in-law: Tammy McGhee and Candace McGhee; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four sisters: Bertha (JC) Stargell, Hattie (Eddie) Ellington, Beatrice Harvell, and Mary Daniel; two brothers: Jimmie (Nona) McClendon and Robert (Pearl) McClendon; brother-in-law, Chip Brown; and a host of relatives including three generations of nieces and nephews; and friends.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
