A 25-year-old man was attacked outside of Global Sports Bar Saturday morning and later hospitalized for his injuries. The victim suffered from a broken and dislocated ankle, as well as multiple cuts and contusions to his face and hands, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.
According to Capt. Mark Cavender with the LPD, the victim was a patron at the bar, not an employee, and the incident does not appear to be an attempted robbery.
At around 1 a.m. Saturday, officers with the LPD were dispatched to the Global Sports Bar at 2169 West Point Road in reference to a person injured in a fight.
Officers were advised that the victim had been taken to West Georgia Medical Center by a family member. Officers made contact with the victim at the hospital, and he advised that someone had jumped him from behind, outside of the bar, and had possibly kicked him multiple times while he was on the ground.
If anyone has any information about this incident please contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706 812-1000.
