If you ever thought that it might be better to be in love with a dog than a human, fear not! The LaGrange Humane Society hears you and is ready to help. The humane society, in partnership with the LaGrange Animal Services, will be hosting a speed petting and adoption event this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Home 2 Suites. 

Mandi Bono, the director of the humane society, said this event will be similar to speed dating for those that wish to participate.

“Home 2 Suites will give us use of six rooms and people will rotate through the rooms at ten minute intervals,” Bono said. “Kind of like speed dating, but better because it’s with dogs!”

Santa will make an appearance at the event along with Kaley Herbert and the many dogs that are currently in the shelter.

“We will have Santa there, along with a photographer for new adoption photos. Kaley Herbert, the purple haired realtor, will be providing light refreshments,” Bono said. “We hope to get as many as 24 families to come look for a new furry family member in those few hours.”

Bono said there will be more dogs and cats at the property if participants do not fall in love with the dogs that are present in the hotel rooms.

“We will also have the mobile adoption trailer on site with more adoptable pubs and kitties,” she said.
