The Azalea Storytelling Festival will make a grand return this Friday for its 25th year.

This year, the three-day event will return to its more traditional format at LaGrange College’s Callaway Auditorium with several prominent storytellers.

Tickets can be purchased at the LaGrange Society of Performing Art’s website at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=133846.

Masks will be required inside the auditorium and will be available on site.

In 2021, Azalea Storytelling Festival was supposed to hold its 25th annual festival. Due to COVID-19, the event was held in a smaller, semi-virtual format with only one storyteller, Donald Davis.

This year, Davis will return alongside fellow storytellers Josh Goforth, Kevin Kling, Ed Stivender and local storyteller Carol Cain.

The Azalea Storytelling Festival has been recognized as one of the oldest such festivals in the state of Georgia.

Additionally, it has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the Top 20 Events in the 12 Southeastern states.

The National Storytelling Association bestowed on the Azalea Storytelling Festival the Association’s Leadership Award. Furthermore, the Azalea Storytelling Festival was nominated by the Georgia Department of Economic Development to the American Bus Association as one of the 2012 Top 100 Events in North America.

In 2013, the founders of the Azalea Storytelling Festival received the LaGrange Troup County Bureau of Tourism Visionary Award.

  Stories will be presented on the following schedule:

Friday night, March 4:  7:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 5:

•  9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 6:

• 9:30 a.m. – 10:40 a.m.
• 10:50 a.m. – 12 p.m.
