If you’re looking to start a new business venture in historic downtown LaGrange, Plum Southern, an upscale gift and bridal registry shop on Main Street, might have the deal for you.
The owner of the business, Peggy Scott, is planning to retire, but only when a suitable, compassionate owner is ready to take over, explained Wally Ziprik, who is assisting Scott with selling the business.
Ultimately, Scott is looking for someone to hand over a legacy to.
“She’s trying to find the right buyer,” Ziprik said. “[She’s looking for] someone who has her attitude in her spirit, someone who can maybe take it to the next level while also keeping the name and the tradition [of the business].”
Potential buyers may visit https://plumsouthern.bridgecatalog.com/. For more information, contact Ziprik at (678) 761-4077 or wziprick@nericap.com.
Plum Southern officially opened in October 2007 and moved to its current downtown location in 2014.
The business carries over 6,000 quality products such as kitchen, dining and entertainment, home decor, purses, jewelry and garden products from over three dozen vendors. Its bridal registry operates online and in-store.
Plum Southern carries several exclusive merchandise lines, including Vietri, Juliska, Casa Fina, Costa Nova, Katie Loxton and Beatriz Ball. Other popular lines include Mud Pie, Tag, Joy Susan and Two’s Company.
Ziprik noted that Scott expressed interest in staying at Plum Southern to help the new owner “get a good grip of the reins” before she steps down.
“It’s going to take a few months for someone to [get adjusted],” he said. “She’s going to stay around to introduce the people. Sometimes she makes trips to the Atlanta Apparel Mart, so there are some contacts with her vendors she needs to [help establish.]”
Plum Southern is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
