As part of its human resources report Thursday, the Troup County School Board approved the hiring of four new principals.
Shannah Mabry will head Clearview Elementary School, Hanna Beall Hogansville Elementary School, Keneithia Cook West Point Elementary School and Todd McRae will head Callaway Middle School.
Last week, the school board conducted interviews for the elementary school principal positions. By Monday, the board had eight elementary candidates that were whittled down to six and then the final three. The final choice had to attend four different interviews, one at each one of the schools they applied to work at, Superintendent Dr. Brian Shumate said Monday.
“They’re all very talented people, and we feel this is the right fit for these folks in these particular positions,” Shumate said.
