The Troup County baseball team won its final game of the regular season Friday with an 11-0 win over Jordan.

The Tigers bombarded Jordan early as they plated four runs in the first inning. Devon Murphy hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Ty Medders to start the scoring for the Tigers. Josh Mcdonald reached on an error to drive in another run to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Mcdonald then scored on a passed ball before Reed Morris scored later in the inning to give Troup County a 4-0 lead heading into the second inning.

Murphy grabbed another RBI on a double to get the scoring started in the top of the second inning. Murphy then scored on an error to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead. Mason Atkinson hit a sacrifice fly to drive home Mcdonald and end the scoring in the second inning.

The Tigers had to wait until the fourth inning to plate another run but got their biggest offensive play of the game when Morris hit a home run to score three runs for the Tigers.

Morris was then walked with the bases loaded to drive in another run in the top of the fifth inning to round out the scoring on the evening for Troup.

The Tigers used three different pitchers in the game with Murphy getting the start on the mound and the win. He pitched two innings and allowed two hits on four strikeouts. Fisher Baltzell came in to relieve him and pitched two innings and allowed no hits on two strikeouts. Demetris Hardnett pitched the final inning and shut the door on Jordan as he struck out two batters and left no room for a rally.

Morris was a force of nature from the plate as he went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, two runs scored and two walks. Murphy went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored as he put in a solid shift from the plate as well. Daniel Martin and Medders had the other multi-hit games for the Tigers as he went 2-for-3 from the plate. Mcdonald and Medders had a RBI apiece to round out the scoring for the Tigers as three of the Tigers runs were unearned.

The Tigers finished the regular season 21-9 overall and 13-3 in the region. Troup County earned a no. 3 seed in the region after finishing third in Region 2-AAAA and now will wait to see where it will travel to in the first round of the playoffs.
