TCSS names new Franklin Forest Elementary principal

The Troup County School System announced Wednesday that Lindsey Binion was selected to be the new principal of Franklin Forest Elementary School.
Binion has served the Troup County School System since 2008 as a classroom teacher and a data support specialist. She was most recently assistant principal at Callaway Elementary School, according to the school system.
Binion was chosen due to her experience in the areas of teaching and learning and the knowledge and skills she has in instructional delivery.
The school system noted her ability to establish relationships with stakeholders will serve as a strength when working with the staff, students and families at Franklin Forest Elementary.
Lindsey competed against four other candidates during interviews on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The interview process consisted of one primary committee and one secondary committee.
The secondary committee was composed of a district administrator, as well as teachers, staff members, parents, and students from Franklin Forest Elementary.
The primary committee consisted of five district administrators.
Five candidates were interviewed, and through collaboration and thorough discussion of each candidate, Ms. Binion was the sole finalist for the position. Her position was approved by the Troup County Board of Education on May 19, 2022.
Lindsey Lynch, former principal of Franklin Forest Elementary School is the new professional learning coordinator for the Troup County School System. She began her new role on June 1.
