The 30th annual Geeter camp wrapped on Friday after a successful week of teaching young kids about the fundamentals of the beautiful game. Kids ranging from ages 5-15 got experience being coached up by some of the top soccer coaches/minds in the area including the LaGrange College men’s coach, Ryan Dickson – a native of Northern Ireland – as well as Callaway High School girls and boys soccer coach Mike Petite. The young campers also got to learn from Jeff Geeter himself, who coached the Panthers men’s soccer team for 24 seasons.
From Monday to Friday, it was morning after morning of soccer. By incorporating games within training as well as quality instruction, the kids of all ages were able to have fun while still learning more about the game of soccer.
Dozens of kids came out to experience the camp. As one of the longest running summer camps in the area, the kids who did participate were treated to some top quality fun and learning.
