All PostsThree candidates so far have qualified to fill the LaGrange City Council District 2 seat of the late LeGree McCamey. Qualifying closes Friday at 4:30 p.m.
LeGree had served on the LaGrange City Council for 12 years. His current term had two more years.
Candidates who qualified to run for the position so far include Leon Childs Jr., (nonpartisan), Ashley AC Cousin (democrat) and Israel Prince Barsh (nonpartisan).
To gain the seat, one candidate will need a vote of 50% plus 1 vote in order to avoid a runoff, said Elections Supervisor Andrew Harper.
The election will be held on November 8, the date of the mid-term elections nationwide. In the event of a runoff, an election will be held on December 6.
