1939 – 2022
Mrs. Joyce V. Rowden, 82, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia.
Mrs. Rowden was born on Dec. 19, 1939, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Harvis Holloway and Minnie Lee Noles Holloway. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Howard Holloway, Gerald Holloway, Donnie Holloway, Raymond Holloway, Lumis Holloway, and a sister Rachel Oaks.
She was a member of the Loyd Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, Georgia.
Gramma had many roles in her life. She was a hard-working business owner, a devoted mother, a loving sister, a loyal friend and a caring wife.
“Popa” was the love of her life. Her person. Her rock. We have never seen a person more dedicated to someone in the way pop has been to Gramma in the last 2 years. Gramma loved him with her entire heart. She waited for pop.
All of these roles took a back seat to her lead role. Being a grandmother. She was the best you could ever hope for. Little people stole her heart.
Her grandkids and now great-grandchildren were her joy. She kept us often when we were little. Some of our earliest memories are with Gramma. She cooked for us, doctored our” boo boos” and let us be ourselves always. She was vibrant and beautiful.
She is survived by her husband, William Eaves Rowden, daughter Lisa Hudson & son Thomas C. Clem. Grandchildren include Chase Hudson, Mary Ellen Hudson, Thomas Hudson and Florence Rogers. Great-grandchildren include Easley Hansen, Camilla Hansen, Olivette Lummis, Benjamin Hudson, Harper Hudson and Mary Charles Hudson. Siblings, Jerry Holloway, Terry Holloway, Gary Holloway, Carol Conaway, Steve Holloway, Betty Hardin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, 2 p.m. EDT at the Loyd Presbyterian Church, 564 Glass Bridge Road, LaGrange, Georgia.
