TCSO arrests three teenagers accused damaging $28K at Butts Mill Farm

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office has charged three teenage suspects with stealing and damaging more than $28,000 worth of property at Butts Mill Farm.
Cade Croft and Cody McFarland, of Pine Mountain, and Ryan Townley, of Ellerslie, Georgia, were arrested for the incident and face charges from both Troup and Harris County.
Sheriff’s deputies began investigating the incident on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022 when they received reports of multiple burglaries and damage to property at Butts Mill Farm at 2280 Butts Mill Rd. in Pine Mountain.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators determined that several items were taken along with damage to equipment estimated in excess of $28,000. The alleged crimes were determined to have occurred in the Harris County portion of the property.
Troup County investigators worked with Harris County Investigators to identify Croft, 17, McFarland, 17, and Townley, 17, as suspects in the case. All three were arrested in Troup County and charged with single counts of second-degree criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
The trio also faces sdditional charges in Harris County stemming from the incident.
